FELINE VACCINE RECOMMENDATIONS
Kittens (under 12 weeks)
- 8 weeks- Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia vaccine (Eclipse 3)
- 10 weeks- Feline Leukemia virus vaccine (Fort Dodge)
*only if going outdoors prior to 1 year of age or if living with a
known Feline Leukemia positive cat
- 12 weeks- Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia vaccine (Eclipse 3)
- 14 weeks- Feline Leukemia virus vaccine (Fort Dodge)

- 16 weeks- 1 year rabies vaccine (Rabvac 3) and possibly Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia virus antibody titers (Cornell)
NOTE: There are currently no manufacturers that make a vaccine that separate out the Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia virus.
Kittens (over 12 weeks)
- Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia vaccine (Eclipse3) given once
- 1 year Rabies vaccine given 3-4 weeks later and possibly Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia virus antibody titers (Cornell)
- Feline Leukemia virus vaccine (Fort Dodge), repeat in 2-3 weeks. Only to be given if going outdoors prior to 1 year of age or living with a known positive cat
NOTE: After one year of age cats develop a natural immunity to Feline Leukemia
Adult cats (over 1 year)
- Rabies vaccine as required by state law
- Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia vaccine every 3 years (if going outside) or less frequently based on risk of exposure
- Feline Leukemia, FIP, and FIV vaccinations are not recommended for adult cats living in a normal household situation
- Annual wellness examinations for ALL cats
